People who ever wonder what it’s like to work, live and play in Downtown L.A. got their answers this weekend.
From Friday through Sunday, the Downtown Open House weekend gave visitors the opportunity to experience the “urban lifestyle” firsthand and explore everything Downtown has to offer.
Local businesses, museums, bars, restaurants, art galleries, hotels and other venues participated in the free-range, self-guided tour.
The Rowan was dressed to impress its visitors. Over 300 people came to tour the building and its Dodd Mitchell-designed model unit.
The Rowan team would like to thank all its visitors for coming by. If you missed the Downtown Open House weekend, you can always contact our Sales Gallery @ 213-213-1898 for a private tour of the Rowan

On this self-guided tour, you can explore everything from where to live, dine and party to cultural, retail and entertainment hot spots. With a free registration, special hotel rates and $6 parking passes for the entire weekend, the Downtown Open House weekend is a great opportunity to discover or re-discover Downtown LA. A Downtown Showcase at the 7th/Fig Plaza will feature an Information Center and many downtown venues, including The Rowan.
For this special weekend, Yarger Strauss Contemporary’s Downtown Annex is proud to announce Corpus Maximus 2008, an exhibition of oil paintings celebrating four artists of the New Figurative movement – Ray Turner, Steve Huston, Zachary Thornton, and Jared Joslin-.
The Rowan team will be happy to welcome you from 10 am to 5 pm in the lobby of the building on 5th/Spring or at the Downtown Showcase at the 7th/Fig Plaza. Come visit us at the building, we will offer you free parking in the Rowan lot (with validation).

The tour will feature some unique residences in the re-awakened downtown including Goodwin Gaw’s (developer of the Rowan) loft, located in the Douglas Building in the Old Bank District.
Built in 1898, the Douglas Building is one of the few remaining vestiges of Los Angeles’ 19th century architectural treasures. Its recent transformation into modern residential lofts is the work of Rockefeller Architects, an LA based firm. Team HC, best known for the renovation of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, designed Goodwin Gaw’s loft with a streamlined aesthetic and Asian accents.

The greening process will be shown in a new lifestyle show on the Discovery Channel in late July.
